Insight meditation is a process of self energy healing. It is best to do one hourly sit down sessions. Only meditate longer if it is comfortable to do so. Certainly it is very beneficial to adopt any physical exercise program; that is designed to square up your frame and straighten the alignment of your spine. This is in combination with serious meditation. Yoga, isometric exercises and even Thai traditional massage are particularly beneficial; to improve meditation quality due to increased soul energy flow strength. In some cases strategic chiropractic sessions are also worth serious consideration. Meditation practice will soften your body and correct exercise will stretch your body; which in turn will improve the alignment or conformation of your physical form.
Effectively with insight meditation practice you are progressively building up energy. Accordingly this creates the movement in your body from an old psychic rigid spring-loaded unbalanced pattern; into a newer better straighter more flexible spinal alignment pattern. Every serious meditator with maturity of practice will find the same result. Spinal alignment is progressively corrected or straightened. Resulting in the soul energy flow during meditation practice being progressively increased or strengthened.

Meditate between sit down sessions

Try to maintain the meditating awareness even after your sit down session is over. While you are at the Anapana stage maintain the Anapana exercise. Do your best to maintain the Anapana exercise continuously all day as best you can. When you are at the Insight meditation [body scan with your awareness] stage; maintain this meditation technique after the sit down session is over. Certainly the more successful you are at maintaining awareness between meditations; then the more rapid your progress will be. If you have lost meditating awareness then the only solution is another sit down meditation session.
Over time your loss of awareness will be less and less as energy follows thought. Obviously this is how you evolve into continuous meditation ability. If I had understood this correctly when I was first meditating; then I could have achieved continuous meditation ability much earlier than what was the case. Interestingly it took four 10 day meditation courses over a 6 months period; before I gained continuous meditation ability. Meditating between meditations is the big secret to achieving rapid progress in meditation maturity.
Clearly the most important aspect is how well you maintain your awareness! Every time you meditate you clear out some resistance, which results in a stronger soul energy flow rate. Even after one ten-day meditation course the meditator will find; that the resting soul energy flow rate will be stronger when compared with beforehand. You will need to get this flow up to a certain threshold rate; before you can easily pick up the awareness again at your next meditation session. Especially relevant this is why intensive meditating sessions 10 to 11 times per day; will always give you the best and easiest results.

Failure to maintain meditation intensity after course

Common mistake that many meditators make is not to maintain their practice; at a level after the course that will maintain or improve their meditation ability. In conclusion this naturally results in the soul energy flow rate progressively winding down again; to the before meditation course level. Consequently in this case when you go to the meditation center again for another 10 day course; it is like starting for the first time from scratch. You need at least two one hour meditation sessions every day just to maintain your current level of meditation ability.
As a result this is the whole reason why I say; it is best to do a ten-day course every month until continuous meditation ability is achieved. When this point is reached you no longer need the meditation center for anything further. In the beginning when you first practice meditation then posture with suitable environment is very important. These early restrictions are not important at all once you have gained maturity in meditation practice. This is defined to be when you have the ability to pick up the awareness of the soul energy flow easily.
At this stage you may meditate under any conditions, which means continuous self energy healing. Surprisingly in fact you may listen to the Rolling stones dancing the Irish jig; all the while practicing deep meditation because your soul energy flow is so strong. It is all so easy after you have achieved maturity in meditation practice.

Continuous meditation

Every time you meditate soul energy flow speeds up. While every time you stop meditating then progress is in regression as the soul energy flow slows down. Appropriately this explains why meditation practice needs to be very intensive in the beginning; so as to get the soul energy flow up to speed. Where it will be above the threshold level and you can do it all the time. It is only when you gain the ability to meditate continuously that your progress in personal transformation really takes off.

With continuous meditation you just hold your awareness continuously within the soul energy flow, at the level of the brow chakra or third eye location. The flow is stronger every day while the resistance is being progressively dissolved every day. Even with continuous meditating ability you will still be affected by life issues, in direct inverse proportion with how much resistance you have dissolved.

The more resistance you have dissolved then the less you will demonstrate reactive behavior. You will only be completely free of life issue emotional impact after you have achieved enlightenment. To be enlightened is defined as the physics energy state of maximum current flow without resistance.

Enlightenment

Final goal or result of Insight Meditation is the achievement of enlightenment and not the gaining of psychic abilities, which is a secondary consequence. Our focus needs to be on process and not result. Once the process is correct then the result is 100% guaranteed.

How to Meditate

Meditation is defined as the disciplined focus of thought to enable the increased flow of energy from the over soul to dissolve the resistance of ego.

Side effects of purification caused by meditation increasing energy

Practice meditation as often as your circumstances allow but do not be in a hurry with your stage of progression. It is a long journey, which needs to be taken one firm foundation step at a time. Always keep in mind that meditation is a process of increasing energy in the body, which will lead to inevitable consequences. The process of purification causes impurities or poisons to be released and eliminated, which often have unpleasant or uncomfortable side effects. This is particularly so in the beginning stages.

Single most common form of side effect would be headache or migraine. This occurs due to the increased energy flow through channels, which are not yet wide enough to facilitate that flow. A wide range of symptoms can be expressed and in any combination. Various common symptoms would be skin rashes, burping, coughing, sneezing, crying, nasal discharge, nausea, spinal pains and even diarrhea. This is not an exclusive list as the symptoms of aggravation or healing crisis are indeed very extensive.

Do not be deterred in any way from your practice of meditation by the mirage of any side effect or combination of side effects. Just see it as an elementary stage to be passed through, which it is. Once passed through you will experience stronger more pleasant meditating ability. The early stages can be painful but this is more than made up by the joy of deeper meditation. Whenever you experience a side effect you should be really happy with true inner joy. Because you know that you are definitely meditating correctly.

Meditation improves posture by straightening the spinal alignment

Every serious student of meditation would be wise to have a correct concept for the purpose and function of meditation practice. There are only two paths in life. The first path or ego approach is to run around chasing the illusion enjoying the glamour of sensation. This naturally leads to the energy state of reduced soul energy flow with a contracted twisted spinal alignment of the body with reduced function. The second path or soul approach is to sit still in order to escape the illusion.

In meditation you practice detached observation of sensation with no particular attachment. Naturally leads to the energy state of increased soul energy flow with an expanded straightened spinal alignment of the body. With improved posture this results in improved metabolic function or health. Increased soul energy flow progressively removes the sediments of crystallization or resistance. Meditation is a progression from rigidity into flexibility on all levels of your being mental, emotional and physical.

Whenever you meditate your soul energy flow increases or speeds up and whenever you stop meditating your soul energy flow slows down. Understanding this aspect explains why any progress you have successfully made during meditation practice is easily reversible, during those periods of meditation abstinence.

Ten day meditation Course

One ten-day meditation course correctly practiced will enable you to make a significant improvement in your stage of progression or ability. After your course you practice one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening every day. Certainly this will enable you to maintain your stage of meditation progression but it will result in very little overall improvement or progression. Accordingly this explains why it is better to do a ten-day course every month for four months; rather than to do a ten-day course every year for four years!

Your focus for meditation ability needs to be on doing continuous courses until the stage of continuous meditation ability has been achieved. To become aware of the soul energy flow and hold your awareness within it results in being able to meditate continuously with continuous dissolving of crystallization. Only at night when you sleep does your body rest to remove the stirred up impurities and further soften the linings of the energy channels in order for meditation the next day to expand the channels even further.

Only continuous meditation enables possibility of enlightenment

While you are practicing continuous meditation you will achieve only progression in meditating ability. With no reversal of results due to soul energy flow slowing down! When this point is reached you no longer need the initial strict protocol any longer. Because you now have the ability to meditate in all conditions. You have now begun the dual life of the outer everyday life and the inner meditative life all at the same time. No one practicing meditation at the level of a one ten-day course every year with two hours each day only will ever achieve enlightenment.

Only meditators with the ability to meditate continuously will ever have any chance to achieve enlightenment. During meditation at times you will experience what is called a mini enlightenment experience or Bungarelli; which is a larger than usual influx of soul energy flow coming down from your Over-soul. This experience is identical to the enlightenment experience with one small difference. This difference is the degree of resistance in your body. With the mini enlightenment experience the resistance pulls up the influx of energy short.

While with enlightenment it is a complete experience due to the resistance having been previously removed. Enlightenment is the final dissolution and removal of the last remaining specks of resistance in your being. Once enlightenment has been achieved then reversal of meditation progress is no longer applicable. You are now truly free.
