Theosophy is an esoteric movement. Established in the United States; during the late nineteenth century. Therefore it has been categorised as part of Western esotericism. Who although found across the world; are centered in Tibet. Masters have cultivated great wisdom; who have initiated the modern Theosophical movement. These masters are attempting to revive knowledge; of an ancient religion once found across the world.

Theosophical groups do not refer to their system; as a religion. However it does teach; that the purpose of human life is spiritual emancipation. And claims that the human soul undergoes reincarnation; according to a process of karma or cause and effect. Above all it promotes values; of universal brotherhood and social improvement. Although it does not stipulate particular ethical codes.

Initiate

An initiation is depicted as making the choice to move through the doorway of spiritual awakening.

An initiate is anyone who achieves a change in consciousness or spiritual awakening. For instance this is from a low animalistic pattern; into a higher more responsible way of being. Therefore in effect it is to become more vibrationally educated in spiritual evolution. Here is a quote by Mr. Carl Jung “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” Which is totally correct. Belief system or model of the world does not change reality in any way. However the only thing that we can change is our perception of reality. Which is precisely achieved with insight meditation practice.
